Another month, another four seasons each week as Spring does its thing.
I gave the big tick to my bladder surgery and was surprised to be able to have it done almost immediately, but I held out to the end of the month, as I wanted to get a bunch of riding in and I still had a few Flahute commitments.
I am starting to transition back from a Groadie back to a Roadie (well taking the grippy tyres off the Diverge and putting on slicks) and getting back into nice long climbs on the Fuse. I got a number of good long days in the saddle in and am feeling really good about my condition – and no issues! I will start my preparation for a summer of Alto Cycle Tours culminating in the Victorian Alps tour in Australia – whoop whoop.
I had factored in a two week off-season to give the body a bit of relief as I was starting to feel a bit jaded towards the end of the month, not helped by being caught in some hail and rain for three hours (my weather good luck failing me) which led me to wind down the length and scope of my final rides, not wanting to go to surgery with a lowered immune system. This was a good idea as a final blood test before surgery showed I was pretty worn out and was a good risk of infection. So a good boy I was.
Candy had a bit of frustrating month, still in forced recovery with her overloaded ITB and now a foot niggle (possibly broken) playing up whilst cycling. The Ultra came and went, and Candy and Skotti did the 10k whilst Iain & Helen chopped out 30k of the Ultra. Good work all round.
I managed to get a reasonable amount of work around the mountain bike park done too but I am incredibly grateful to have a bunch of volunteer days coming up with people giving us a day of service. Phew.
Not much other news apart from catching up with friends and looking after monsters. You can find out if I survived my surgery next month…

The Love Bizarre
Whispering words that scream of outrageous sin
We all want the stuff that’s found in our wildest dreams
It gets kinda rough in the back of our limousine
That’s what we are, we all want a love bizarre
A kiss on the spine, we do things we never do
Swallow the pride and joy of the ivory tower
That’s what we are, we all want a love bizarre
Whispering words that scream of outrageous sin
We all want the stuff that’s found in our wildest dreams
It gets kinda rough in the back of our limousine
That’s what we are, we all want a love bizarre
